Nyx - Big, Beautiful DSH Black Female Adult Cat for Adoption in Farragut, Tennessee For Sale

Nyx is a big, beautiful, VERY affectionate, DSH black female girl looking for her furever home. Someone dumped her or possibly threw her from a moving vehicle near a horse farm in Knoxville. Unfortunately there are dogs in residence who are not cat-friendly, and she is not safe there. She was brought into Village Veterinary Medical Center (west Knoxville) on December 11th for her own protection and for medical evaluation. The vet estimates her age at about 2 years old. She is spayed, has been wormed, is up-to-date on all vaccinations, is litter box trained, and is very healthy except for the fact that she is FIV positive. Contrary to popular belief, FIV infected cats that receive supportive medical care and are kept in a stress-free, indoor environment can live relatively comfortable lives for months to years before the disease reaches its chronic stages. Many people confuse FIV with feline leukemia virus (FeLV). Although these diseases are in the same retrovirus family and cause many similar secondary conditions FeLV and FIV are different diseases. However, because Nyx has been diagnosed as FIV positive, she must be fostered or placed in a home that has other FIV cats or a home where she is and will always be the ONLY cat. She appears to be cat and dog friendly. There is a $50 adoption fee which will help cover the cost of her check-up, vaccinations and de-worming.
